POLICY ACTIVITIES AND OBJECTIVES
The Working Group’s core objectives include:
- Raising awareness about the rising danger hybrid threats pose to European and national security and promoting a coordinated and robust approach to preventing and countering these threats.
- Promoting European technologies and solutions in countering cyber, physical and hybrid threats, including in critical infrastructure protection, protection of public spaces, disinformation, civil protection, crisis management and notification of disruptive incidents.
- Working with regulators and end-users to set up and define a healthy regulatory framework that would strengthen European resilience, increase security and counter threats in a manner that is realistic, achievable and acceptable to the industry, including through standardisation, cybersecurity by design, use of emerging disruptive technologies (EDT) etc.
- Adapting the industry to the new Cybersecurity Strategy and its vision to increase cybersecurity capabilities of essential services and connected things as well as collective capabilities to respond to major cybersecurity attacks.
The Working Group’s key policy activities include advocating on issues such as:
- Critical infrastructure protection
- Cybersecurity and cyber resilience
- Hybrid threats policy
- EU security-related infrastructural programs (e.g., Secure Communication Programme)
- Digital law enforcement
REPRESENTATION IN RELEVANT EXPERT GROUPS
EOS’ Cyber and Physical Security Working Group engages directly with the European Commission, European Parliament, Council of the EU, EU Agencies and Bodies and other stakeholders active in the field of cyber, physical security and hybrid threats.
