Integrated Border Security Working Group

EOS' Integrated Border Security Working Group facilitates the development and uptake of better technology solutions for border security both at border checkpoints, and along maritime and land borders.

POLICY ACTIVITIES AND OBJECTIVES

The Working Group’s core objectives include:

  • Promoting the European Security Industry in general, and the interests of the members of EOS IBS WG in particular.
  • Endorsing an integrated approach to procurement policy, in parallel to a comprehensive strategy for future ISF funding.
  • Enhancing the reputation of security equipment manufacturers and building lasting relationships with all European Security Regulators.
  • Enlarging the cross cutting applications of the technologies in the field of civil protection, land and maritime security, as well as non-transport security, such as customs, CBRNE and overarching communication networks.
  • Working with regulators and customers to set up and define a stable regulatory environment that will increase security and counter threats in a manner that is realistic, achievable and acceptable to the industry.
  • Supporting the harmonisation and development of EU Regulations, as well as standards and interfaces that will ensure equipment interoperability and compatibility.
